Mangaluru, Oct 15: Sandalwood actress of Mungaru Male-2 fame Neha Shetty inaugurated the inter-hospital variety competition ‘Hospitalentz’ in AJ Hospital and Research Centre premises on Saturday, October 15.
Speaking on the occasion, she said, “When we go to the hospitals and consult the doctors, we do not think about them or their hobbies. They too have interests and this the best occasion where they can express themselves.”
“I am from the artistic background but I landed into movies accidentally. So I feel to be on par with the performers as I used to be one during my school and college days. I wish good luck to all the participants.” she added.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest of the programme, the director of Yenepoya institutions Farhad Yenepoya said that this was one of the rare occasions where in hospital staff got to express their talents. He also wished good luck to all the participants.
Medical director of the hospital Dr Prashanth Marla welcomed the gathering while assistant manager HR, Shashidhar Acharya, rendered vote of thanks.
The actress later also sang the song ‘Mungaru Maleye...’ from Mungaru Male-1 to start the Anthakshari competition.
Pooja and Divya compered the formal programme while Lavita D'Souza compered the competition.
Director of Medical administration Dr Amitha Marla, medical superintendent Jayaram and others were present on the occasion.
As many as 8 hospitals from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Bengaluru urban district participated in the competition.
