Bantwal, Oct 15: Bantwal rural police team led by sub-inspector(SI) Rakshit raided a house being used as illegal slaughterhouse at Ammemmar, Pudu grama on Saturday, October 15. Goods worth Rs 5.28 lac were seized and eight cows were rescued in the operation.
The raids were conducted on the basis of complaints that cows were being slaughtered in the house owned by Mansoor, resident of Ammemmar.
Police informed that Mansoor, his younger brother Lathif , friend Taslim and others managed to flee. There were nine cows in the house. One of them was slaughtered and preparations were on to sell it. Eight cows, one Innova car, three bikes, tools, weighing scale and other items were seized.
Bantwal veterinary doctor Prakash Bennur was called to the place for investigation. A police case stands registered in Bantwal rural police station and investigation is in progress.
SI Rakshit, staff Jagadish, Pravin, Suresh, Jayaram, Basavaraj, Shivaraj, Shivakumar, Manoj, Lokesh, Manoj Kumar, Suresh, driver Yogish and Praveen participated in the operation.
