Mangaluru, Oct 16: "The coming election will carry BJP to dizzying heights. For this dream to come true, party activists and office bearers have to put their hearts and souls into the efforts to make this a reality," advised Dakshina Kannada MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel.
He was speaking at the valedictory of the special executive meeting of BJP Dakshina Kannada district unit held at Suratkal on Saturday October 15. In addition to accusing the state government of resorting to anti-Hindu policies and moving to take control of Hindu places of worship and Maths, he charged it with making preparations to ban age old traditional customs. He called upon party activists to spread knowledge about this agenda of the government among the masses.
MP and vice president of state BJP committee, Anant Kumar Hegde, inaugurated the meeting. In his inaugural address, Hegde said that there was no doubt that BJP will secure majority in the state assembly in the next election. he said that party is always bigger than individuals and nothing will be achieved by discussing differences between state level leaders of the party. Stressing that the party will take firm and suitable steps at an appropriate time, he pointed out that under the leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, it has again been proved that BJP alone can provide stable leadership and achieve unity and integrity of the nation
At the meeting, it was decided to support the sand policy that was in vogue in the coastal districts during the period of former minister, the late Dr V S Acharya. It was decided to spread awareness about new GST rules implemented by the central government, celeberation of birth centenary of founder of the party, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, implementation of Grama Vikas Yojana, celebrating 125th birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar through service activities etc.
On this occasion, Valmiki Jayanthi and birth anniversary of Dr Abdul Kalam were celebrated.
BJP district president, Sanjeev Matandoor, MLA, S Angara, MLC, Capt Ganesh Karnik, former minister, Krishna J Palemar, president of Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat, Meenakshi Shantigodu, and a large number of office bearers and activists from the BJP participated in the meeting.
