Bantwal: SP donates blood, hails altruism of Dakshina Kannada people

Bantwal, Oct 17: Dakshina Kannada district superintendent of police, Bhushan G Borase, hailed the people of the Dakshina Kannada district for their service oriented approach and altruist qualities. "They are aware of the importance of blood donation. In this aspect, they have emerged as role models for others," he stated.

Borase was speaking after inaugurating the 83rd blood donation camp organized by Sevanjali Foundation Farangipet and Janajaruti Vedike on Sunday October 16 at Farangipet, by being the first to donate blood at the camp. A large number of people including Bantwal rural station house officer, Rakshit Gowda, took part in blood donation.

Local zillal panchayat member, Chandraprakash Shetty, president of Janajagruti Vedike, Prakash Karanth, and others also spoke on the occasion, stressing the importance of blood donation.

Deputy superintendent of police, Raveesh C R, director of Sahyadri Engineering College, Devadas Hegde, Dr Sushant of KMC Hospital and others were present.

Trustee, Devadas, welcomed. Managing trustee, Krishnakumar Punja, presented the programme and proposed vote of thanks.

Food and civil supplies minister, U T Khader, visited the camp and appreciated the organizers for evincing interest in this noble task.
