Udupi, Oct 18: Criminal Investigation Department (CID) policemen, who have only about three weeks time left to submit charge sheet in the sensational murder of NRI businessman, Bhaskar Shetty, have been awaiting the receipt of DNA report. In criminal cases, charge sheets need to be filed within 90 days from the date of first arrest.
While the CID has collected evidences and conducted detailed investigation in this case, it feels that DNA report, if available before they file charge sheet in the court, can strengthen their case. Sources say that charge sheet in this case has been prepared, and the CID is waiting for DNA test report.
Forensic science reports have confirmed that the bones recovered by CID inside the river belonged to humans. If the bones and some other materials recovered from the water match with the DNA samples of Bhaskar's mother and brother, the CID will get a strong basis to its claim that Bhaskar had been murdered.
