Bengaluru, Oct 20 (DHNS): The city police, along with the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the police from Tamil Nadu and Kerala are gathering clues regarding the murder of RSS activist Rudresh.
Police sources said that the NIA and police from the neighbouring states were collecting information in connection with the case.
“Creating communal disharmony is suspected to be the motive behind the killing of Rudresh. A few banned organisations are on the radar. Probe teams are also working on other angles like real estate, financial and personal.”
“Rudresh was murdered on the day when the RSS ‘patha sanchalana’ (route march) was organised. This shows that the suspects wanted to create communal disharmony. Investigating teams have been despatched to the neighbouring states,” the officer said.
‘Footage unclear’
Another investigating officer said that the CCTV footage was unclear. “Based on the information provided by the eyewitnesses, sketches of the assailants are being prepared.
The footage shows that when the assailants were escaping on their bike, after hacking Rudresh to death, they ran into a pushcart. The person standing near the pushcart has provided some clues,” the officer said.
More than 70 people, including Rudresh’s friends, local politicians and members of different organisations are being questioned in connection with the case.
