Mangalore, Jan 3: As the police investigations have not made any significant progress in the case of murder of city builder, Subba Rao, who was slain in the busy K S Rao Road on a late night three months ago; the tentacles of blood-thirsty goons to wipe out the targeted persons once again surfaced in the city.
The city cops, in a significant move nabbed two Bangalore-based hired killers on Thursday, January 3 at 2 – 30 p m. The arrested are identified as Sachin Mukund Nair and Vinod Kumar. They were picked from Maharaja Residency, located in Trade Centre, near Jyoti Talkies.
The duo had been assigned the task of finishing off Sachith Alva Bantwal, Ananthu and Ram Hebbar Yellapura by their unknown kingpin. They attempted to kill Ram Hebbar on Monday, December 31 but in vain., since they could not spot him at close range to fire. Moreover, they were nabbed by Pandeshwar police, led by Venkatesh Prasanna, sub-inspector when they were after other targets. The cops have intensified their interrogations, in order to get them to reveal the identity of their boss and sum of money promised by him, for executing the assigned job of hired killing of the targeted persons.
The city cops are likely to go deeper into the spate of hired killings, which had plagued the state capital in the past, but has now extended to coastal Karnataka, with the network of hired killers working round the clock for hefty sums.
