Tata Motors is Preferred Bidder for Jaguar-LR: Ford

London, Jan 3 (mb): Tata Motors was on Thursday named the preferred bidder for Ford's British marquees Jaguar and Land Rover, but a final decision for the sale was yet to be taken.

"Ford is committed to focused negotiations at a more detailed level with Tata Motors concerning the potential sale of the combined Jaguar, Land Rover business," Premier Automotive Group and Ford of Europe, Ford Motor Company Executive Vice-President, Lewis Booth, said.

He said detailed discussions would be held with Tata Motors over the coming weeks.
