Bahrain, Jan 4: It will be yet another vibrant programme by the 'Mogaveers' who are hailing from the Coastal Karnataka State of Southern India. Mogaveers, the community which is always best known for its vividness in cookery skills is all set to through another lavish food bash named ‘Atil-2008’ on Thursday, the10th January 2008 at Papillon Auditorium in Gudaibiya. This extravagant food festival is being organized for the 3rd time in a row since the formation of ‘Mogaveers Bahrain’ in Dec-2004. This culinary show has been rightly titled as the ‘ATIL’ which means, “CUISINE” in Tulu language (the language predominantly spoken by the inhabitants of Coastal Karnataka).

The classic ‘Atil-2008’ includes variety of mouth-watering vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes which will be cooked in a traditional method that typically prevails in South Kanara district of Coastal Karnataka. Apart from all these masaala-rich (i.e. spice-rich) veg & non-veg dishes, there will also be some (nowadays rarely-seen) special gastronomies like Timare Chatney, Kudu Chatney, Balyaar Chatney, Rachha Talli, Kukku Talli, Neeruppad, Mensinkai, Galai Gasi etc which are really lip-smacking branded side-dishes well-identified in the ‘Tulu-Naadu’ (i.e. Land of Tulu Speaking People – ‘South Kanara’). Moreover, tens of delicious Chaat and Dessert items will also be displayed to complete the sumptuous food arcade. To the surprise of all, it’s the point to be noted that all the spicy and other yummy delicacies will be prepared by the highly proficient local and visiting experts.

“The Atil-Evening will be a great relaxing and food-tasting time for all the food-lovers. The events like Atil are the gifted programmes for the expatriate community who have long-forgotten the aroma of their home-food”, said the association President Girish Iddya.

“To add fascination to the blissful evening, there will be a live DJ by John.. Therefore, undoubtedly the event will satisfy the people of all age category with its charismatic vibrancy. So, we Mogaveers invite the members of all expatriate community to show up to taste the food and feel the traditional tang by bringing back the nostalgic memories of our Tulu hinterland”, added Iddya.

“This food-bash is mainly aimed to promote the Tulu-culture, Tuluva-Food-Tradition amongst the large Tulu-speaking expatriate community who made the Kingdom a home away from home for them. In this food-show, almost 50 odd ethnic delicacies will be displayed on the food-rack for the food-lovers to taste. Live-cooking of some of the dishes will be the added attraction at the bash. There were around same galore of food items displayed in last year’s Atil and a large number of people have walked in to respond positively to our invitation. This year too we expect the similar scenario out there” said the chief event coordinator Chandrashekhar Shriyan.

The programme will start at 7pm sharp and the admission is free for all. Nissar Ahmed (Proprietor, Gulf Russian Restaurant) will inaugurate this exclusive food-bash. For more information, please call Girish Iddya on 39432353 and Chandrashekhar Shriyan on 39026998.
