Kasargod, Nov 2: Relating to the incident in which a lady had jumped from her residence at Kuwait and lost her life, Hosdurg station police personnel have arrested her husband, Satyaprakash alias Prakash Krishna (34), resident of Kushalnagar Kanhangad.

The victim, identified as Sushma, was a native of Madikai Ambalattara in the district. Sushma had married Satyaprakash in 2002. After marriage, Satyaprakash had taken his wife with him to Kuwait where she succeeded in bagging a job in a government-owned company. She had jumped to death later from her apartment building on September 24, 2013.

On the basis of complaint filed by Sushma's father, K V Kunhikrishnan, with the district superintendent of police, Hosdurg police took Satyaprakash into custody from Mangaluru airport.

It is said that Satyaprakash routinely came home at night fully drunk. He used to harass his wife to no end. Sushma's father also said in his complaint that Sushma's husband also spent salary earned by Sushma on liquor and other things for his lavish style of living.

When the body of Sushma was brought here after her death, policemen had asked Satyaprakash, who had accompanied the body, to come to police station. But Satyaprakash had avoided them and returned to Kuwait without their knowledge. The police had served lookout notice for him.

The police got to know that Satyaprakash was returning home after a gap of three years. They waited for him at Mangaluru airport and arrested him on his arrival.

@Peter D souza,Mumbai,I am sure the Lady had jumped out to suicide out of cowardness. That does noone, may be men.But here the truth may be quite different.why not her husband pushed her out of window in a drunken case for not giving her salary or after a quarrel?Just think first a Little of possibility. We heard he used to drink always and use her Money too.Alcohol makes many hearts and homes into deserts.A loving husband wouldn't slipway from Police ,but only when he felt guilty .

Though it is very late message to diseased lady but some others can think positively instead…. Why you need to commit suicide? It means you are putting down your weapons before the battle starts!!! You have courage to commit suicide but not to face the people like Satyaprakash??? Of course he will be punished for his wrong doing but in the process we lost one valuable human life too!!!!

    Thanks Mr. Kishore.
    Got some information.
Any ways, there is no dearth of good lawyers in India, Mangalore.
If found or proved guilty he should be punished. Only based on circumstantial evidence I believe.

    Quite astonishing!
In such an incident the investigation by the police and law enforcement agencies in Kuwait is very strict. They would ensure that there is no foul play involved in the act. They would not have allowed any loop holes to escape from their scrutiny.
On what criminal charge Mangalore police can arrest and detain him? On suspicion they cannot build or frame charges. Let us wait and see.

KUWAITI POLICE OR ANY POLICE ACT ACCORDINGLY AS THEY RECOVERED PHYSICAL EVIDENCE FROM THE SITE... YOU ARE RIGHT ...MENTAL HARASSMENT DOESN'T LEAVE ANY VISIBLE PROOF.

Maybe he is responsible for the death, but how Mangaluru police can arrest him for incident happened in Kuwait?. If he would have murdered his wife Kuwait police would have him arrested.

Dear Stan, Read the news article carefully. you will get an answer. Still unable get the logic of arrest here it is. " policemen had asked Satyaprakash, who had accompanied the body, to come to police station. But Satyaprakash had avoided them and returned to Kuwait without their knowledge. The police had served lookout notice for him." (Lookout notice is the logic). Shame on the male who depend upon wife’s money for his personal enjoyment. Now cool your heels behind the bar
