Kundapur: Byndoor MLA Gopal Poojary refuses chairmanship of forest corporation

Daijiworld Media Network - Kundapur (SP)

Kundapur, Nov 3: Veteran Congress leader and Byndoor MLA, K Gopal Poojary, has refused to accept the responsibility of chairmanship of Karnataka Forest Corporation offered to him by the chief minister.

Poojary said that he is not comfortable discharging duty as chairman of forest corporation as forest minister, Ramanath Rai, with whom he has very cordial relationship, has been ably functioning as forest minister. He added that in his personal opinion, he would not be comfortable in that post and that he has already conveyed his decision to state president of the party.

He also felt that accepting additional responsibilities might blunt his functioning as an MLA, as he already has a large number of tasks on hand, which are to be completed and which will require his total dedication and attention.

Hey Nithin - do Billavas desire to return to the BJP after being killed and insulted? No community can have a future with the BJP. Billavas deserve more and better is true. Lobby, demand and assert and will get it within the secular politics. Why go for communal politics?

I appreciate Mr.Gopal Poojary's decision...He should not accept anything less than Cabinet ranking...This is just an attempt to satisfy the angry Billava Community by giving peanuts...Oscar will definitely pay for this in the next election...Seven out of eight MLA seats have been won by Congress in DK and three out of 4 seats have been won by Congress in Udupi...Let see next election how much Congress will win in the twin district...I'm a hard core Congress supporter but Oscar has to pay for Vinay Kumar Sorake's exit from the cabinet for no reason...

Poojari does not want to risk his political survival by having to deal with ex-forest brigand and current minister George.

George is controlling the jungle kingdom through his son Rana a self proclaimed wildlife conservator and forest enthusiast.

If sand is mined, people come to know, but if forest wealth is plundered no one comes to know.

Poojari does not want to get into awkward position having to deal with forest bandits..nice decision.
