Mangalore: Un-Identified Youngsters Pelt Stones at Tour Bus

Mangalore, Jan 6: Some miscreants wearing helmets have pelted stones at a private bus which was carrying tourists who were returning from their tour, on Saturday, January 5 at 11- 30 p m, at Jappinamogaru, on National Highway 17, in the city. As a result, the bus was totally damaged.
The youngsters wearing helmets arrived on motor cycles, pelted stones at the bus carrying students of a software training institute, located in Thokkottu who were returning from their tour. The stone-pelting began as the bus slowed down, to manoeuvre the barricade laid near Jappinamogaru, by the highway patrol police. However, the youngsters sped away in their motor cycles, when the merry-making students could recover from the shock.
The windshield including windowpanes of bus was totally shattered as a result of stone-pelting. Fortunately, none of the students suffered any injuries. All the miscreants sped away in their motor cycles, which were parked in the vicinity of a temple arch, close to the highway.
The students of a government recognized software training institute, located in Thokkottu, had left on an excursion on Saturday, January 5, at 6 – 45 a m. They were returning from their last leg of tour to Murdeshwar and Yana. A total of 46 students were in the bus while half of them were women. They were returning overjoyed with their trip, along with their head of faculty and principal of software institute.
Who were behind this act?
It was known that some miscreants have committed this act, since there were a few youngsters who belonged to another religion among them. However, it’s not known whether the act has been committed by some youngsters of unsound mind or by any outfit.
Meanwhile, in the midst of confusion and chaos, three mobiles and cash money of Rs 15 thousand which belonged to the picnickers were found missing. The city police arrived at the spot and registered the case in this regard while investigations are on.
