Mangalore: ACCE - Ultra Tech Outstanding Building Awards Presented

Mangalore, Jan 7: For the first time in the district, Association of Consulting Civil Engineers organized an annual award function in which outstanding building was given award under following categories:

ACCE - Ultra Tech Award for outstanding Multi-Storied Structure and the tallest building of Mangalore was awarded to K2. Promoter and architect Sanath Kumar Shetty of SKS Group received the award. Structural Engineer K S Babunarayan and Premanand Shenoy and the contractors Mfar Constructions were felicitated.

Also seen from right Kalbavi Rajendra Rao, chairman, ACCE (I), Mangalore Centre, Prof Sandeep Sancheti, director, NITK, Surathkal, Ramesh Kumar, Asst. vice-president (Marketing), Ultra Tech Cement Ltd. and Mukund Kamath, secretary, ACCE (I), Mangalore Centre.

ACCE - Ultra Tech Award for outstanding Residential Building in DK district was awarded to 'Sangam' house of Sathish Bhandary. Architect Venkatesh Pai and the contractor Devadas were felicitated.

ACCE - Ultra-Tech Award for outstanding residential villa in Udupi district was awarded to Sathish Shetty Yerthady for his ‘Yerthady House’. Engineer K N Alva and the contractor Devadas were also felicitated.

Prof Sandeep Sanchathi, director, NITK was the guest of honour. Umesh Rao, national president of ACCE presided and Ramesh Rao, vice-president of Marketing of Ultra-Tech was present and gave away the awards. Rajendra Kalbavi, chairman of ACCE Mangalore centre welcomed the guests and delivered keynote address on awards.

Dr Ramachandra of Ultra Tech presented the parameters of the award. The jury members G Raghunath Rai, senior engineer of the region, B L Yediyal, retired executive engineer and Christopher Noronha, architect and Dr Ramachandra, structural engineer, Ultra Tech were felicitated by Dr Manamohan Kalgal.

 Balasubrahmany introduced the guests. Vijay Mayya presented the report of activities of ACCE; Sathish Rao Iddya introduced the jury members. Secretary of ACCE Mukund Kamath rendered vote of thanks.
