Udupi, Nov 6: "Those who murdered my son should spend the rest of their lives inside jail till their deaths. My daughter-in-law, Rajeshwari, grandson, Navaneet, and Niranjan Bhat should never be allowed to come out and be part of the society," said Gulabi Shetty, mother of slain NRI entrepreneur,Bhaskar Shetty, with tears rolling down her eyes.
Speaking to media persons at her residence at Katapadi near here on Saturday November 5, she opened up her thoughts.
"It has been a hundred days since my son died. CID officials stated three days back that the bones found inside the rivulet belonged to my son. Till then, I had a dim hope that my son would have been alive somewhere. Since the day he married, Bhaskar could never find happiness in life. Whenever he came here from the Gulf, there were bitter fights with his wife. My daughter-in-law drained away money earned by my son with hard work. She spent a fortune on sorcerer, Niranjan Bhat. She even eliminated my son. She should get toughest punishment for this crime," she felt.
It is gathered that the family did not undertake any post-funeral religious rites relating to Bhaskar Shetty's death, as the members nursed hope that he might come back alive, it is learnt. They are also happy at the way investigation progressed after the investigating officer was changed at the demand of family members, who observed that no proper investigation was conducted for over ten days initially after missing complaint was filed in Manipal police station by Gulabi.
