12 Crores for a market. Local administration has no control over budget. Half of the funds goes into someone's pocket with a poor infrastructure coming up. Way back they built central market building in Hampankatta. I don't think this market has worked efficiently. If I am not wrong it was Congi rule then. Same fate will happen to Urwa Market. We build markets, flyovers all of poor quality and finishing. Most of the Govt. projects in Mangalore are a failure unless there is MNC's taking part in the construction. We don't have the passion, we only have passion for corruption. Jai Hind.

Why 12 crore for this project. Is it required to have multi storeyed complex in Urwa. First of all, they should clean the existing urwa market. Some area of the market, stinks.

The funds should have used for irrigation project, water conservation, infra structure, electricity where it is not available in the remote villages of DK.

Laying foundation stone is not important. As already told by our District in charge Minister Ramanath Rai the project work should be speeded up and work completed withing the contract period without dragging the work for years together. Thats called Development.

    Good news indeed.
People will surely benefit from the modern market. I too visit this market whenever I am on holidays. The condition at the present is so shabby and deplorable condition.
Mangalore MLA is really working for the community.
