Mumbai, Nov 9: The five back-to-back Wilson Olivera Nites which were held in Mumbai from October 29 to October 31 enthralled Konkani music lovers this Diwali. 'Sangeeth Sardar' Wilson Olivera mesmerized the Mumbai audience with his superb rendition of songs, music, coupled with dance and rib-tickling comedy during his 43rd to 47th music shows.
The 43rd Wilson Olivera Nite held on October 29 was a houseful show organized by Konkani Cultural Association of Navi Mumbai at CIDCO Auditorium, Vashi, Navi Mumbai at 6:30 pm.
The 44th Wilson Olivera Nite was on October 30, organized by St Peter's Association (Barkur), Mumbai at Navinbhai Thakkar Hall, Vile Parle, Mumbai at 10 am.
The 45th Wilson Olivera Nite which was organized by Canara Konkani Association, Borivali was held at Prabodhankar Thackeray Hall, Borivali on October 30 at 8.15 pm.
The 46th Wilson Olivera Nite was at Gadkari Rangayatan, Thane, Mumbai was organized by Kanara Catholic Association, Thane on October 31 at 11 am.
The 47th Wilson Olivera Nite was held at Nazareth Convent High School Ground, Vasai, Mumbai, organized by Vasai Konkani Welfare Association on October 31 at 6.30 pm.
'Sangeeth Sardar' Wilson Olivera has been performing consistently in the Konkani music world, and promises to be one of the top lyricist and singer in Konkani's history, one who has widened his presence all over the world through his music concerts.
Ronald Olivera, brother of Wilson Olivera, an equally talented person in the public speaking domain and winner of International Toastmasters, took charge of all these five shows and kept the audience attention alive throughout with his class compering.
Wilson Olivera enthralled the gathering at all five places with splendid performances, ably supported by other artistes from Mangaluru and Dubai. Well-known singers Rony Crasta, Pradeep Pinto, Prashant Pinto, Priya Menezes, Shilpa Coutinho and Joseph Mathias rendered their melodious voices.
The musical extravaganzas started with 'Tumcho Maka Ugdas Ailo' as the curtain raiser, followed by new and popular heart winning compositions from Wilson Oilvera such as 'Mother Teresa'. 'Konkanghar', 'Mai', 'Bomboyche Chedum', and 'Gulfagaar', as well as romantic numbers 'Tujea Galancher', 'Mukllea Gati Thavn', 'Tu Chedum Konachem', 'Kalki Kalki Raat', 'Channe Udela', 'Punvecho Chandrem Laztha', 'Molbar Chandr Pole Tilta', and 'Makka Tuje Khatir'.
'Kahai Tum Vetai Mogo' ang 'Channeahi Raat', which were composed by Wilson Olivera specially for the recently released superhit Konkani movie "Noshibacho Khell", were also performed. Among all, the soul- touching numbers 'Mai' sung by Wilson Olivera brought tears in many. Indeed it was a soul-stirring performance, sung with feeling and love towards his mother who is no more.
Popular music director Roshan D'Souza, Angelore directed music for all these shows and was accompanied by Richard Monteiro on keyboard, Ivan Pereira on drums and rhythm pad, Jerome Coelho on bass guitar, Damodar Kumble on tabla and dholak, Sunil Kumar on violin, and Umesh Suratkal on trumpet and Saxophone.
Roystan Kiran, Wilfred Monis and Reena Priya popularly known as 'Kushali Kinnigoi' entertained the audience with rib-tickling comedy at all the five venues, sending the audience into into peals of laughter.
'Naach Sobhann' group presented scintillating dances choreographed by Avil D’Cruz. Popular dancers Rahul Pinto, Sandesh Monteiro, Senhith Lobo, Sonal D’Cruz, Delina Pinto, Dylina Mendoza and Joylin D’Souza made the audience shake the legs with them during these shows with their sparkling dance performances.
