Mangalore, Jan 10: ‘Netravati-Phalguni’ Kambla, held at Pilikula for the first time came to a magnificent end on Wednesday January 9 evening.

A total of 76 buffalos took part in the Kambla, sources said. Though many Kamblas take place around Mangalore, this is the first one held close to the city and organized in a big way.

Moreover, the Kambla ended with a good result, though there were a few complaints about the tracks, basically about the length of the track and the holes in it. But the organizers assured better facilities next year, by taking into consideration all the shortcomings of this time.

Interestingly, this Kambla was sponsored by the district administration. The government officials worked hard for its success.

Good spirit to the farmers. It is like a mela or gathering of farmers. Local government must encourage and give financial support to the participants.

Thank you Mr.Dayanand.Really entertaining for the sports lovers.  This is an event which reflects the richness of traditional Tulunadu which has a special consideration towards sports.  This is a guideline for us what games we can play with our available resources.  Thats why it is thrilling for the born farmers.  I always  enjoyed it and will be in future too.
