Mangaluru, Nov 11: Former union minister Janardhan Poojary on Friday November 11 demanded the resignation of minister for primary and secondary education and Raichur in-charge Tanveer Sait for watching porn during Tipu Jayanti celebrations on Thursday November 10.
Addressing media persons here on November 11, Poojary said, "Tanvir Sait's act has caused embarrassment to the state government and the party high command. The chief minister reacting to the issue told the media that Tanvir Sait has agreed to resign but the minister has denied this and claimed that no one has asked for his resignation, and that he would not resign. The chief minister should answer the people of this state and reveal the truth.
"If the chief minister has guts, ethics and morals, let him demand Tanvir Sait's resignation or sack him," he challenged.
"According to the media the high command has asked for a report. I urge the high command to dismiss him on the basis of the news and not wait for any report. He has committed an act which is against Indian culture. All religions are sacred. In your (Tanvir Sait's) religion women wear veil. Do you know the importance of it?" Poojary said.
"Not even for a minute should Tanvir Sait be allowed to remain in the government. He should resign immediately. Do not give excuses, chief minister. We have heard enough of your (CM's) excuses," he lashed out.
Commenting on the union government's move regarding demonetization, Poojary said, "It is a farsighted and good move, but implementation has gone wrong. If the Prime Minister had taken steps to print enough new notes, then people would not have faced this problem."
