Mangalore, Jan 9: The launching of redesigned website of Fr Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI) and releasing of ‘Mullerpulse – ‘07’, an annual magazine was held at Fr Muller Academy hall on Wednesday January 9 evening.

The interns of MBBS at Fr Muller Medical College (FMMC) led the prayer at the beginning.

Dr Edward Nazareth, professor of department of orthopaedic and staff editor of ‘Mullerpulse – ‘07,’ escorted the guests to the dais.  Dr Edward expressed his happiness in bringing out ‘Mullerpulse – ‘07’, an annual magazine within the stipulated time.

Ninon Patrao, president of students’ council presented bouquet to Fr Patrick Rodrigues, director of FMCI while Shishir Varghese, assistant editor of ‘Mullerpulse – ‘07’ annual magazine presented bouquet to Fr Denis D’Sa, Administrator of FMMC and Nikil, member of editorial committee presented  bouquet to Dr Sanjeev Rai, dean of FMMC. 

Praveen Paul presented bouquet to Dr Harris A Berman,  while Dr Bindia presented bouquet to Dr Ruth, Dr Satish Kumar, and Dr Balaraj who were seated among the audience. 

Fr Denis D’Sa introduced Dr Sabyasachi Bhaumik, consultant psychiatrist, Royal Frith Hospital, Leicestershire and professor, University of Leicester, UK and Dr. Harris A Berman, dean of public health and professional degree programmes, Tufts University, Boston, USA.

Dr Bindia, while making presentation on ‘Mullerpulse – ‘07’ stated that ‘Mullerpulse’ annual magazine pierces deepest dimensions of heart and soul.

Dr Sabyasachi Bhaumik, soon after releasing ‘Mullerpulse – ‘07’ said that he does not go to sleep, without reading a book.  Reading has been a passion for him.  Home without a book, is like a room without a window.  He urged the administration of FMCI to nurture creativity outside the field of medicine also.

Dr Sanjeev Rai briefed on the redesigned www.fathermuller.com. The website has been developed and designed by Daijiworld Media Pvt Ltd for Father Muller Charitable Institutions.

Dr Harris A Berman upon re-launching redesigned www.fathermuller.com said “it’s a sign of progress at FMCI.  Important changes have happened here in the past few years.  But do not focus on technology too much; focus on people.  Use technology to heal people and patients”.

Fr Patrick Rodrigues, in his presidential address said that pulse is an indicator of life.  ‘Mullerpulse’ is a record of dreams, visions, mission and progress of FMMC.  Doctors may be good at treatment and healing.  But, they should learn more to be good at recording.  "We at Fr Muller are trying to get a deemed University status to our institution and the art of recording through web and ‘Mullerpulse’ will definitely help in achieving this goal" he added.
