Bengaluru, Nov 14: Ever since the fancy LCD invitation card came out, and especially after the demonetisation move, all eyes have been on the wedding of the year - that of Brahmani, daughter of former minister Janardhan Reddy.
Janardhana Reddy, known for flaunting his wealth, has created mini Hampi set and replica of Tirupathi Tirumala temple in the 38-acre palace ground here for conducting the marriage of his daughter, Brahmani. Her marriage is scheduled to take place in the Titupathi temple set on November 16. It is said that the 'Kanyadaana' ritual will be performed in a structure representing ancestral house created for this purpose out of wood by skilled artistes from Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
Lord Virupaksha's idol also has been installed in Hampi Vijaya Vittal temple set. Reddy family performed various religious rituals and performed special puja here under the directions of priests from Tirupathi on Sunday morning and evening, in connection with the said marriage. The marriage, which will be conducted in the presence of Lord Venkateshwara's idol installed for the purpose, will be attended by about 5,000 guests, it is gathered.
For supporting the religious rituals, skilled Nadaswaram players have been brought from Tamil Nadu. Professionals and students undergoing training in architecture and creation of sets have created grand sets for the marriage. Flowers indented from foreign countries like Malaysia and Indonesia have been used for decorating the temple set. Dhruva Kumar from Hassan is in charge of unique flower decorations, and the decoration is replaced every two days. Hampi architecture replica stands at the entry point to Lord Vijaya Vittal temple, and this too is tastefully decorated. The garlands for the groom and the bride have been artistically created with flowers that are lightweight, as per information gathered.
Special lounges for VIPs, special cushion seats brought from Andhra Pradesh, various houses created to replicate village houses, air-conditioned rooms, and luxurious arrangements are in place. The guests will have access to sumptuous food of various styles all through. Families from both the sides and VIP guests will be staying here for two days. Tight security is in place and people are allowed in by security guards only after thorough checks. Photographs are not allowed.
This marriage is expected to cost Reddy family a whopping Rs 180 to 200 crore, although some sources have put the figure at Rs 500 crore. If rumours are to be believed, dance maestro, Prabhu Deva and Bollywood heartthrob, Shah Rukh Khan, will be performing at the marriage of Brahmani. Several other celebrities are also said to have agreed to perform, although the list of such performers has not been provided so far.
