Mangalore, January 14: Painting must be promoted as a popular hobby and children should be encouraged to take up this hobby, said Maheshwara Rao, deputy commissioner of DK district here at the Town hall on Sunday January 13.
He was speaking at the prize distribution Children's Painting Competition 2007, organized by Syndicate Bank.
The prizes were given away under three categories. Totally thirty prizes were given away under three categories. The prize distribution ceremony was followed by cultural programmes.
Office-bearers of the Syndicate Bank and officers from district administration were present on the occasion.
