Mangalore: Daijiworld.com Confidently Strides Into Its 8th Year
• Launches Local TV Channel to Reach Coastal Homes
Mangalore, Jan 14: What started off as a hobby on January 14, 2001, daijiworld.com web portal today has reached out into every nook and corner of the world. Moreover, after completing seven fruitful years in this sphere, the portal has also turned its attention to media establishment. A small step taken by one individual has today been able to bring hundreds of thousands of people from all across the globe under one net, so to speak.
Although every year daijiworld has seen a huge growth in readership as well as commercial advertisements, still a lot needs to be achieved in order to stay online with the mainstream media groups of the nation. In this direction and in order to reach the innermost segments of the coastal districts of DK, daijiworld has launched its very own tv channel namely 'Daiji Global PanVision'.
The channel covers news in English language and entertainment in all coastal languages (Kannada, Tulu, Konkani and Beary). It, in fact, is already reaching over 150,000 homes through cable networks of Mangalore and Udupi. The tvdaijiworld programme can be viewed through U-channel in Udupi everyday at 7.30 pm and V4 Media every day at 9.30 pm. This programme has been very well received by viewers, with positive feedback pouring in nearly everyday. Eventually, the telecast hours will be extended to 24 hours, with non-stop news and entertainment programmes on the channel.
With regard to tvdaijiworld on the Internet, it is our continual effort and goal to make our facility available to each and every reader, so as to make it a mutually fruitful association. Very soon we will be bringing in new technology to upgrade the quality of our webcast. With constant positive feedback from our readers worldwide, we are inspired and encouraged to introduce more innovative and new programmes through tvdaijiworld for the benefit of our viewers.
Plans are also on the anvil by the Daijiworld management which is planning to announce several ambitious projects spanning over a period of 5 years with an even bigger vision. The group which was registered as a Private Limited Company in March 2007, with the active support and guidance of its directors, sponsors, contributors, staff and, above all, of the readers is expected to take the daijiworld mission into the next level of progression, with its future plans.
For the year 2008, we will soon be announcing some interesting plans which would motivate not only our daijiworld team but even our loyal band of viewers and readers as well. In fact, our team's strength has increased from the past. What started of as a one-man show in the beginning, has today expanded into a cohesive band of 24 dedicated webportal and tv team, with more than 150 freelancers as well as honorary correspondents spread all across the globe.
Melvyn Rodrigues
On this momentous occasion, it gives us immense pleasure in announcing the arrival of Melvyn Rodrigues, a quality assurance professional and a leading Konkani poet and thinker into the daijiworld fold. The notable point here is that Melvyn has been with us right from day one, since this website began, albeit non-officially. Now we announce his entry into daijiworld, officially leading the Mangalore team as its operations director.
Melvyn will also be responsible for leading our all-India operations which involves the operations of our team in Mangalore, Mumbai, Goa and Bangalore. His rich experience in the media field, specifically pertaining to Konkani journalism, we are confident, will assist the daijiworld establishment in soaring to new heights.
It has been our sincere endeavour to look after the interests of all our readers; however, due to certain unforeseen circumstances sometimes it may not have been possible for us to satisfy the interests of all, for which, do accept our apologies. However, we assure you that we will do our utmost to fulfil the interests of all our readers, because in our eyes each and every reader is very precious and dear to us, without whose support we would have been here.
Our team, be it in Mangalore or all over the country or even worldwide, is very dedicated, upbeat and punctual. They are our unseen asset and backbone. At this crucial juncture of our stupendous journey, we would like to congratulate the entire team for uplifting our webportal to this level. Each and every member has contributed to the best of his or her ability to make this webportal a successful venture, indeed.
Here we would like to put in a word of praise for our sponsors and advertisers as well, as they are our lifeline infact our very life. Without their generous support we could never have brought this media right to your fingertips. Kindly accept our sincere and heartfelt gratitude through this page. While we try and remember each and every soul who has contributed to the succcess of the webportal, it would be humanly not possible to print the name of every individual to thank them. The list is too long, but we do remember each and all and thank them from the bottom of our hearts.
We expect similar support in the coming days as well, so as to inspire and boost our efforts towards building a strong medium. We will continue to support new writers / contributors especially those from the younger generation. We need to infuse more young blood in order to strengthen our team. Anyone serious about building his / her career through journalism is most welcome to join daijiworld team locally or internationally.
Last but not the least we take the opportunity to also thank our columnists and occasional contributors from all around the globe, who supported us without expecting any monetary or other returns. Hope we will continue to receive your similar unstinted support in future too.
In conclusion we would like to add "Dear reader, you are our greatest asset; without you we cannot not even think or even dream of running this webportal. With your active support, we assure you that we will bring more innovations into daijiworld in the days and years to come. Any suggestions to improve the quality of our service is accepted with grace and dignity from our end".
Thank you so much, may you all have a wonderful year ahead...God Bless.
Sincerely yours,
Walter Nandalike
