Udupi, Jan 14: The session’s court, here rejected the plea of a certain Nagaraj Rao and Harish Bhat and cleared the legal obstacle for the Paryaya of Sri Sugunendra Teertha Swamiji of Puttige Math on Monday, January 14.

Nagaraj Rao and Harish Bhat, filed a case against Puttige Swamiji at Udupi sessions court and plead the court, not to allow him to involve in Sri Krishna Pooja and ascending the Peetha. Doreiraju, public prosecutor from Bangalore contested on behalf of them.

Meanwhile, state advocate general, B V Acharya contested on behalf of Puttige Swamiji. Well known lawyers like Balagovinda, Sanatkumar, Anantpadmanabha and Sripathi Acharya also participated in the court hearing on Monday, January 14.

B V Acharya argued that the complainants are not related to Sri Krishna Math in any way. They have no right to lodge a case on behalf of devotees of Sri Krishna, he argued.

He also contested that when Puttige Swamiji returned from America, felicitations were held at the leadership of Pejavar Swamiji. Moreover, the various programmes like ‘Sugunendra day’ celebration, stamps release, chairman of world peace convention etc, are the achievements of Puttige Swamiji. Important documents on behalf of Puttige Swamiji were also produced at the court, through CD during the hearing.

Listening to the arguments of both the petitioners, the judge delivered the verdict in favour of Sri Sugunendra Teertha Swamiji of Pejavar Math. Accordingly, the ‘Paryaya’ will be held on Friday, January 18.

Speaking to the media persons after the court verdict, Sri Sugunendra Teertha Swamiji said that all the confusions and obstacles for his Paryaya have been cleared now. It was the will of Sri Krishna that he destined to be worshiped by Puttige Swamiji.

Meanwhile, he opined that those who acted against the will of Sri Krishna have totally failed in their evil plans.

Commenting on the hunger strike undertaken by Pejavar Swamiji, he said that efforts were made to convince him, to maintain dignity of saffron, he added.

Pejavar Swamiji threatened that he would stage hunger strike from Tuesday, January 15 afternoon, if the Puttige Swamiji comes forward to worship Sri Krishna.
