Mumbai, Jan 15: The annual sports day of Bunts Sangha was held at Shashi Manmohan Shetty ground, in SM Shetty High School, Powai here on Sunday, January 13.
Sports meet was inaugurated by Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma by lighting the lamp. The programme was presided over by Dr Padmanabha V Shetty, president of Bunts Sangh.
The event was sponsored by BD Shetty, managing director of Unitop Chemicals. Chandrashekar Paletthady, journalist, MD Shetty, B Vivek Shetty, Sudhakar S Hegde, Anand M Shetty and Karnire Vishwanath Shetty, Bunts community leaders, Sujaya R Shetty, executive president of women division, Anil Kumar Shetty, executive president of youth division were the guests of honour present at the occasion.
Manmohan Shetty, chief executive officer of Adlabs was the chief guest during valedictory ceremony. International sportsmen Vijay Shetty and Keshav S Alva were felicitated in the presence of Jayaprakash Hegde, former MLA, Karnataka, Sucharitha Shetty, president of Dakshina Kannada district Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Vijayprasad Alva, secretary of World Bunts Sangh, Jayakar Shetty Indrali, president of Udupi Youth Bunts Sangh, Aikala Harish Shetty, vice-president of Bunts Sangh and CA Sanjeev K Shetty, honorary treasurer.
Gopal C Shetty, Maharashtra MLA, Jagannath K Shetty, Santosh G Shetty, Mallesh Shetty, Dayanand Shetty, Santosh M Shetty, Shashilata S Shetty, corporators and office bearers of various social service and voluntary service organizations were present to award prizes to sportsmen.
Various cultural programmes were held as part of the annual sports day celebrations.
Mahesh S Shetty, executive president of sports committee welcomed the gathering. Premalatha Shetty compered the programme. KD Shetty, honorary chief secretary proposed the vote of thanks.
