Mangalore: NSUI to organize Students' Convention on Jan 18

Mangalore, Jan 16: National Students' Union of India (NSUI) will be hosting the students' convention ‘Gandhigiri mathu Naija Desha Bhakti (Gandhism and True Patriotism)’, in order to observe the commemoration of the centenary of ‘Satyagraha’ by the Father of the Nation.

The inaugural ceremony will be held on Friday January 18 at Don Bosco Hall in the city.

This was informed by Tejaswi Raj, president of NSUI at a press conference here on Wednesday January 16. 

Oscar Fernandes, union minister of state for labour (independent charge), would inaugurate the function. M Veerappa Moily, chairman of the union administrative reforms commission, Janardhan Poojary, former state president of KPCC (Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee), Saleem Ali Ahmed, president of NSUI, Vinay Kumar Sorake, former MLA, Gangadhar Gowda, B Ibrahim, BA Moideen, Ramanath Rai, former MLA,  Sadanand Poonja and presidents of all units of district Congress will be present on the occasion. 

Rahul Fernandes, secretary and other office-bearers of NSUI were present at the press conference.
