Abu Dhabi: Mangalorean Family Critically Injured in Road Accident

Abu Dhabi , Jan 18: A Mangalorean family is reported to be critically injured in a road accident in Abu Dhabi on Thursday, January 15, 2008 according to delayed reports reaching here.
The injured have been identified as Arun D'Costa (36) an engineer by profession, his wife, Wilma D'Costa (31), a nurse and their 9 month old baby Andréa, all settled in Australia. Arun's elder brother, Leslie D'Costa, employed at Abu Dabhi , driving the family in his car was also injured in the mishap but was discharged from the hospital yesterday,
sources said.
The incident occurred when a truck hit the rear of the car which the ill fated family was traveling in. The truck driver seems to have lost control of his vehicle owing to heavy rains which turned the highways extremely slippery.
Arun D'Costa and his family hailing from native Mucchoor ,is the son of Benna Master and Bibiana Teacher a well known family in Nirude., a town situated 10 kilometers away from Bajpe airport.
Arun and his family had arrived in Abu Dhabi to visit his brother,Leslie . They were supposed to board the Air India Express flight to Mangalore to visit their parents on January 16.
Family sources told daijiworld.com that the mother and the infant daughter, though severely injured , are out of danger. Arun D'Costa however, is in a coma and his condition is still critical.
The D’Costa family has requested daijiworld readers to offer prayer for the speedy recovery of Arun D'Costa. A close relative of the family told daijiworld that "Only prayers can save the life of Arun D'Costa"
