Puttur, Jan 18: A total of seven teachers of Paryalthadka Aided Higher Primary School in Punacha, staged protest against the school correspondent by putting forth their various demands on Thursday January 17. 

The teachers, Tirumalesh Shastry, Ramakrishna Bhat, Jayaram, Shivattaya, Trivikramamurthy, Leelavati, Rajeeva and Narayan Bhat staged protest in front of the school and pleaded the correspondent to stop the mental harassment meted out on them. 

Meanwhile, they demanded to sort out the teachers' increment and handover the headmasters' post to Ramakrishna Bhat, who was supposed to be the headmaster as per the directives of the High Court. 

Block Education Officer (BEO) Sudhakar, Zilla Panchayat vice-president Jayashree Kodandur, DDPI Chame Gowda and MLC Ganesh Karnik paid visit to the spot and assured that the problem will be solved soon. 

On the other hand, Ganesh Karnik took school correspondent Usha and her husband Harsha Shastry, headmaster of the school to task for allegedly harassing the teachers and not following the High Court order in connection with the selection of headmaster.
