Kasargod: Pilgrim from Karnataka dies in road accident

Kasargod, Dec 6: A person, who was  a member of a group of pilgrims from Karnataka that was on a tour of different places of pilgrimage in Kerala died on the spot after getting involved with a road accident at Kumble in the district on Monday December 5.   

The man who met this fateful death was Satish (40) from Chikkanayakanahalli in Tumakuru district. He and 24 others from different places had undertaken a pilgrimage from Tumakuru. The group had stopped the mini bus in which were travelling near Lord Hanuman temple at Arikkady where they cooked and consumed food.

Satish was crossing the highway to dispose of food refuse, when a car that was moving to Mangaluru airport from Kumble hit him at high speed. Satish died on the spot due to injuries suffered in this accident.                               

Kumble additional station house officer, Babu Thomas, conducted inquest of the body. Postmortem was conducted at the general hospital at Kasrgod before handing the body to his relatives.
