Beltangady, Jan 21: It was a momentous day for the members of backward communities like Billawa, Namadari, Deevara, Eediga, Thiya and others of Kerala when Brahmashree Narayana Guru arrived like a beacon light to liberate them from their misery, said Sri Atmanand Saraswati Swamiji in his message during Pattabhisheka here on Monday January 21.
'One caste, one religion, one God' was a universal ideology propagated by Brahmashree Narayana Guru. The peetha instituted to preach the principles of the great visionary renewed its vigour in order to make an impact in the lives of backward community, he said.
The peetha's utmost goal would be to uplift the community, educationally, socially, politically and economically. Hence, the peetha would be embarking on setting up its branches at nine locations across the country.
He stressed on the need to get rid of social evils such as dowry and alcohol addiction.
'Let everyone in the society be empowered with literacy and be enriched with humane values. Let brotherhood reign supreme by shunning jealousy and propagating universal mankind. Every task we undertake should become beneficial to others. True humanity lies in treating others the way we treat ourselves which indeed would be reckoned as social service. Let all individuals irrespective of religion and caste lead worthy lives,' was the divine message conveyed by Brahmashree Narayana Guru which should be followed at all times," swamiji preached.
'Let peace dwell in the heart of everyone throughout the world,' he said.
