M'lore: Cordel Parish ICYM Unit Stages ‘Yuva Sambram – ‘08’

Mangalore, Jan 21: Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) unit of Holy Cross parish, Cordel, staged ‘Yuva Sambhram – ‘08’ at 6.00 p m on Sunday, January 20, in association with YCS and parish youth.  The programme began with prayer hymn.  The youth staged mimicry, dances and sung latest Konkani hits.  The stage programme was held at 7.00 p m.  Fr Anil D’Souza, director of ICYM central committee was the chief guest present at the occasion.  Naveen Noronha, president of central committee, Kiran Vaz, vice president, Fr Lawrence D’Souza, spiritual director, Victor Vaz, vice president of Catholic Sabha, George D’Souza, secretary, Fr Vincent Saldanha, deputy director of ICYM, Reshma, president of ICYM unit of Cordel parish, Laveena Lobo, secretary were present on dais while the programme began by lighting the traditional lamp. 



Fr Anil D’Souza, in his presidential address, inspired the youth to be actively involved in ICYM activities whenever they get time which would motivate others too.  Fr Vincent Saldanha, deputy director of ICYM honoured JB Sequeira, author of Konkani play ‘Mujon Maavn Melom’ and director, Lancy Rego, by presenting them with floral bouquet. 

ICYM youth staged the same play, as part of entertainment programme, later. 


Vineetha welcomed the gathering.  Reshma proposed vote of thanks.  Pricilla, Kiran Vaz and Prima D’Silva compered the programme.  The programme was concluded at 10.00 p m.
