Bengaluru, Dec 13: The issue of excise minister, H Y Meti's alleged indulgence in sex with a relative and CD purported to be in possession of RTI activist from Ballari, Rajashekhar, continued to remain shrouded in mystery on Monday December 12. While Rajashekhar said he will meet home minister and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president, Dr Parameshwar, and provide him with all the details, Parameshwar denied having any knowledge about the planned visit of the RTI activist.
Chief minister Siddaramaiah, under pressure from various quarters to oust the excise minister, stated that he would obtain resignation from the minister if the CD with the evidence to prove the allegations levelled against the minister is released. Ballari police have served notice on Rajashekhar, seeking clarification on the case as well as allegations made by him against the minister. At the same time, husband of the woman involved with this controversy and father of Subhash, said to be the minister's gunman, have denied the allegations forthwith.

Rajashekhar, who was insistent on Sunday about the controversial CD being in his possession, said on Monday that he had sought meeting with the home minister, and if this request is met, he would provide all the information he has about the alleged episode to the minister. He also said he would discuss with the minister about security he needs as he is facing threat to his life. He however failed to confirm that the CD in question is in his possession.
Speaking from Belagavi, home minister, Parameshwar, feigned ignorance about plans of Rajshekhar to meet him. He said that the person facing the allegation has clarified his position and that if his guilt is proved, disciplinary action would be initiated.
Therefore, people are expecting the RTI activist to get assurance of security from the home minister, after which the matter which remains hazy might get clearer.
Revenue minister, Kagodu Thimmappa, suspected this to be a case of blackmailing the minister. Speaking in the legislative assembly, he said that chances of people stooping low to blackmail people to get what they want cannot be ruled out, as this in itself has turned into a lucrative business of late.
