Bangalore: Male Prostitution Racket Busted - Two Arrested

Bangalore, Jan 22: In a joint sting operation by a senior scribe and CCB sleuths, a high tech male prostitution racket has been unearthed in Bangalore.
Two male escorts, Balaji (38), a resident of Kodihalli and Venkatesh (40) Muthyalamma Nagar were arrested by the police, but two others in the racket are still at large.
Police recovered, Rs 23,500 cash, a four-wheeler and two cell phones from the accused. As admitted by the police themselves, the ball was set rolling by a woman scribe from Bangalore, who happened to come across an advertisement in a leading national daily –– ‘Crazy escort and massage service and party get together total entertainment’.
She got in touch with a Mumbai network contact ‘Paresh’ and learnt that it was a deep rooted networking business. When repeatedly asked, Paresh spilled out more details on the business module, tariffs –– Rs 5,000 per hour and Rs 30,000 for entire night –– and the services provided could be made available at any remote corner of the cities and even abroad.
After striking a deal, Paresh informed his Bangalore counterpart to get in touch with the scribe. Under their directions, a hotel room was booked and once she gave particulars, the two agreed to drop in at a convenient time.
Meanwhile, the scribe escorted by policemen in plain clothes waited patiently until the gigolos walked into the police net.
Sensing trouble, the alleged gigolos reportedly changed track and maintained they had come for a property deal. But interrogation revealed their real intent, the police said.
The scribe told Deccan Herald: “Within seconds the gigolos changed their game plan, the other two who were waiting outside vanished in seconds and I started getting threatening calls from Vinod, another contact in Bangalore. He was forcing me to hand over the cell phone to the policemen. All along, he was enquiring about the station the policemen belonged to –– ‘are they from Upparpet police station or from CCB. Give the phone to them, I know them well and nothing can move without their knowledge.”
Interestingly, 48 hours after the operation and arrests, Vinod’s cell number has not changed and he continues to make threatening calls to the scribe. A police case has been registered in connection with these threats.
