Mangalore, Jan 23: Former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa accompanied by BJP president D V Sadanand Gowda paid a visit to the Kadri temple here on Tuesday January 22. Yeddyurappa made an auspicious offering of a cup of buttermilk after offering puja to the presiding deity Lord Manjunatheshwara of the Kadri temple.
Speaking to reporters here the former chief minister continued his tirade against Congress accusing it of trying to create confusion regarding the voters’ list so as to delay the announcement of poll dates, fearing that BJP would emerge victorious in the forthcoming elections.
In this context he said "both the Congress and the JD(S) fear the BJP victory and so they are trying all tricks to delay the polls." However, he warned that if there is any indication of delay in announcing the poll dates by the election commission, the party will approach the Supreme Court in the matter.
When the burning topic of the day, the stock market crash came up Yeddyruppa squarely blamed it on the Centre's faulty economic policies. As regards former finance minister Siddaramaiah's remarks about funds not being provided for the loan waiver scheme to cooperatives, he criticized the latter saying he did not need his advise and the more he talks the more votes Congress would lose.
When the BJP state president D V Sadananda Gowda was asked as to former home minister M P Prakash indecision in joining any party, he responded saying that probably the senior leader was keeping his options open and added that it was his personal choice and left entirely to his wisdom as to which party he would like to join. Further Gowda informed that the election committee had been finalized and had been sent to the national president for final approval.
