George Fernandes to Speak on 'My Mangalore' During Mangalore Today Conclave

Mangalore, Jan 25: 'Mangalore Today Conclave – '08' will be hosted by 'Mangalore Today,' city's premier English monthly on Sunday January 27 at Karnataka Bank Auditorium at Kodialbail here.
Union ex-defence minister George Fernandes will be conferred with 'Lifetime Achievement Award – '08' on the occasion., stated a press release.
Dr M V Kamath, chairman of Prasar Bharati, will felicitate George Fernandes. The programme will be presided over by N Vinay Hegde, chairman of Nitte Education Trust.
During the conclave George Fernandes will deliver a talk on 'My Mangalore' while N Vinay Hegde will talk on 'Sustainable Development' and Dr M V Kamath on 'Pro-active Media'.
Ananthakrishna, chairman of Karnataka Bank Ltd, will speak on 'Youth and Culture' while Austin Tauro, will enumerate on 'Special Economic Zone (SEZ)'. Madhukar Kamath will shed light on 'Emerging India' and Sudhir P Ghate, chairman of Magnum Intergraphiks Private Ltd, will talk on the topic 'Dakshina Kannada Tourism'.
The first 'Mangalore Today Conclave' was held on January 14, 2006, in order to mark decennial celebrations of the magazine, followed by second conclave on January 21, 2007 . Both events were a stupendous success and the speeches by the distinguished speakers were recieved with rapt attention by the audience which comprised of eminent personalities of the city. Dr M V Kamath was felicitated during the conclave held during 2006 while Rohit Bhat, chairman of Robosoft Technologies, Udupi was honoured in 2007.
