Kundapur, Dec 21: A man was found hanging at the house of his second wife in Basrur on Tuesday, December 20.
Bhaskar Acharya (32) from Haregodu is the person deceased.
As Preetha , the first wife of Bhaskar Acharya complained to Kundapur police, a case was registered there and the body was sent to hospital in Manipal for post-mortem.
Bhaskar was working as sound and lights technician. On the day of his death, he was staying at the rented house in Basrur where his second wife Shabia alias Chaithra stayed. Bhaskar who came to the house found hanging when Shabia went for bath.
Bhaskar Acharya had married Preetha eight years back amid objection from parents as she belonged to Christian community. They have a son.
After some years Bhaskar married Shabia who divorced from her husband Abdulla, who was a good friend of Bhaskar. Shabia converted to Hinduism from Islam and changed her name.
Bhaskar stayed with his first wife most of the time. But he also visited the second wife and stayed with her.
Police said the second marriage was not legally valid.
