Dubai, Jan 25: It was a day of full of events around UAE, but at Emirates English Speaking School at Jumariah had house full of audience to witness the third anniversary of Udentichei Neketram, an association of 13 parishes from Moodubidri varado. The highlight of the event was a Konkani play 'Soglem Divchem Tanem' by budding playwright, actor, director by Praddep Barboza.
The event started around 11.30 with a prayer song, comperes of the events were dynamic trio Ullas - Selma D'souza Couple and Richard Saldanha.
Dayan D'Souza, founder of Daiji Dubai Konkani Writers Forum in the UAE and Leena Albuquerque, proprietor of Gramnd Home Real Estate Dubai were the Chief Guests for this event.
In his speech Dayan D'souza, known as dynamite, for his oratory skills kept the audience on their toes for 10 minutes with his emotional and spirited speech, in which he emphasized to the audience to be helpful to each other than living for self. " Do things for the society, whatever you do for society will remain for long, do not be selfish in doing things only for self..and don't be self centered.....do for others"
Vincent Fernandes' Volume No 5, a recent hit Konkani musical album which was released in Mangalore in December was released here during the event by Leena Albuquerque. Jacintha Dsouza and Vincent Fernandes were present on the dias.
During the occasion former president of Udentichem Neketram Arun D'Costa handed over the presidentship to new president Melwyn Cardoza.
The centre of attraction was the Konkani play "Soglem Divchem Tane". Pradeep Barboza brought the best talents from his actors, Rajesh Alvares, Anil Fernandes, Danny Dcunha, Melwyn Cardoza, Deepak Dsilva, Joy Dsouza, baby Lisha, baby Melita, Vally Shirthady, Vinaya Pinto, lawrence Cardoza, reshma, Joyce Dsouza, Lonel Nazareth and Laveen Pinto
Music was provided by Cyril Baptist.
The play was succesful in attracting the audience with the superb display of acting and comedy. The young writer has three other Konkani plays for his credit which too have been successful
