Mangalore: Beauty of our constitution is unity in diversity: A R Bustani

Mangalore, Jan 27: A unique way to commemorate the Republic day was organized. The South Kanara Sunni Students Federation (SKSSF) here organized a huge human chain rally here on Saturday, Jan 26 in order to commemorate the country's Republic day.
This well-disciplined procession with participants in various age groups and some scouts, all dressed in white and carrying 'dafli' (drums) commenced from the Mangalore city Kendra of Jumma Masjid. After winding through various streets it finally culminated near the deputy commissioner's office. There the procession congregated together and a meeting was held as per schedule. This gathering was welcomed by the organizing secretary of SKSSF K M A Kodungayee.
On the occasion the SKSSF central secretary Abdul Razak Bustani of Kalikotte in Kerala, giving an inspiring speech declared "The underlying crux of our constitution is based on the theme that there is unity even in diversity. That is the beauty of our constitution and needs to be cherished and protected at all costs. All attempts should be made to ensure that no harm comes to such a constitution," he added passionately.
Further, Bustani exhorting the gathering implored that only by love and understanding between citizens can the unity of the country be maintained and defended, and this is also crucial for the progress of the country. "All should be united and work for the development of the country," he added.
The meeting was presided over by the president of SKSSF district committee president K L Umar Dharini. The other two speakers on the occasion was Kerala's Asim Areel and K S Hyder Dharimi of Kaladka. Also present on the occasion was Kukila Dharimi, Savanoor Umar Musliyaar, Hanif Dharimi, Abu Shiraj, Mustafa Fazi Keenya, Ibrahim Dharimi amongst several others.
