Shivamogga, De 30: In a big relief to former chief minister, B S Yeddyurappa, and former deputy chief minister, K S Eshwarappa, the Lokayukta court here, on Thursday December 29, passed an order quashing all the cases filed against the two BJP leaders. The court said in its order that the cases have been dismissed for want of proper documentary proof.
An advocate named Vinod had filed three cases against Yeddyurappa, and one against Eshwarappa. The judge, who heard the cases, dismissed all these cases for not providing proper records in support of the complaints.
The complainant had alleged that Yeddyurappa had encroached upon 67 acres of forest land near Hunsekatte Junction in Bhadravathi taluk, and that his daughter, Arunadevi, had bought four sites of Karnataka Housing Board meant for journalists, which were later transferred in her name. Yeddyurappa family also has bought land illegally in Kotegangoor village in the name of Dhavalagiri Properties, the advocate had stated.
Vinod had further claimed that Eshwarappa had amassed wealth running to over Rs 40 crore in the city.
The judge noted that the complainant has failed to furnish papers in support of the complaints and that before filing complaint against Yeddyurappa, prior permission from competent authority was not obtained.
K P Shreepal, advocate representing Vinod, said that he would soon collect documents and file cases in the state high court.
When contacted, Yeddyurappa refused to give his reaction to this development.
