Udupi: District to Get New Engineering College

Udupi, Jan 31: The state government has sanctioned the setting-up of an engineering college in the district, informed former MLA Raghupati Bhat here on Wednesday January 30.

Bhat was speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of a building for the government high school at Indiranagar.

He further said that ten acres of land has already been identified and approval has also been received for a Kendriya Vidyalaya and a government polytechnic college.  

'Education is a great liberator which can take even a common man to the highest position in the country. The best example of this is former president of India A P J Abdul Kalam, who gained  the highest post in the country owing to education, declared former MLC V S Acharya.  

He also urged that it is necessary to provide right opportunities for talented people by providing better facilities in the education sector, so that they may grow in their careers.   

President of zilla panchayat Raju Poojary presided over the function. Block education officer D Manjunathayya, municipal councillor Pradeep Kundar, deputy director of public instruction K Annada, Lakshmi Chandrashekhar, Nityananda Volakadu and president of Indiranagar Nagarika Hitarakshana Samiti (INHS) Sudhakar Acharya were also present on the occasion.

    Where the Engg. college and the Central School will be situated ?? He could have thrown some light on this also.
