Mangalore: 'Suvarna Nrityotsava' - A Treat for Senses

Mangalore, Feb 1: 'Suvarna Nrityotsava'  a four-day classical dance programme organized by Natya Niketana on the occasion of the golden jubilee of the latter was inaugurated on Wednesday January 30.

While on the first day Nrityarchane was held, Nrityarpane was the order of the day on Thursday January 31. Karnataka Sangeeta Nritya Academy member Prof K Ramamurthy Rao was the chief guest.

Renowned vocalist Srinath Marathe, dance teacher Natyacharya Premanath, Midangam maestro Kumble Babu Rai and retired art teacher Chandrashekar were honored on the occasion.

Indian Oil Corporation general manager Ullas Kamath presided over the function.

Renowned dance teacher Ullal Mohan Kumar, Prof Ramamurthy Rao and others were present. Later in the evening students of Mohan Kumar performed a Bharatnatya dance.

On Friday February 2 there will be Nritya Sinchana and on the concluding day Nritya Kaustuba will be held as part of the four-day event.

    It is indeed a great pleasure to be the part of it. Its a four days programme (30th Jan - 2nd of Feb) It has taken me entirely to a different world. Its a feast to the eyes & soul. Its the sweet fruit of their hard work. I wish all the sucess to the Programme
