Mangalore: 'Poompuhar' Exhibition cum Sale Inaugurated

Mangalore, Feb 2: The coastal city of Karnataka has once again geared up to behold the glittering gold-plated jewellery, shining bronze icons, spiritual crystals, etc.
 
If you think it is merely another exhibition held in the city, you need to visit Hotel Woodlands before February 15 to see the ongoing exhibition cum sale "Crafts Mela," organized by "Poompuhar," which organisers claim is for the benefit of both poor artisans and art lovers of the city.
 
In all twenty artisans were readying to exhibit their artifacts. Speaking to daijiworld correspondent, K Karunakaran, the manager of the exhibition informed that the exhibition was organized by their Bangalore branch.
 
The exhibition would feature clothes from faraway places such as Jaipur and Kashmir. This would not only add value to exhibition but would also honour the expectation of customers.
 
Large varieties of bronze icons, brass oil lamps, incense and perfumery, leather items, handicrafts, textiles, wood carvings, Andhra dress materials, 'Rudraksha malas' (Shiva's beads), puja materials and several more crafts were on display, the manager informed media persons at a press conference in the hotel.
 
The exhibition cum sale is officially patronized by the Tamilnadu Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd to promote artisans and their talent, the manager briefed. 
 
Krishna Palemar, former MLA inaugurated the exhibition.
