Kasargod, Feb 6: ‘Nemotsav’ was held at the renovated Sri Durgaparameshwari (Ullalti) Vishnumurthy Kshetra, located at Idiyadka, Perla, recently.

The Kshetra has a history of 800 years but no puja was offered here for the last 250 years before the renovation was completed recently, sources stated. Various rituals were ceremoniously held in the renovated temple from Sunday January 27 and concluded on Tuesday February 5.

The installation of deity, special puja was held throughout the week.  As part of entertainment programmes, musical concert, art fest, stage programmes, magic show, Bharathanatyam and other events were held. 

On the last day, ‘Kendaseve’ was held wherein devotees walked barefoot on burning charcoal.  The Nemotsav wherein a celebrant seeks divine intercession for various issues of devotees too was held along with ottekola. Large number of devotees from all over the taluk arrived at the temple to pay obeisance to temple deity.
