Bantwal: 3 Police Men Injured as Mob Attack Police to Save Criminals

Bantwal, Feb 8: Three District Crime Investigation Bureau (DCIB) police were severely injured while a mob attacked them at Maindala near Vogga when they were bringing the criminals to police station on Friday, February 08 evening.
The injured police have been identified as ASI Parameshwar, head constable Narendra and constable Giriappa.
The police were bringing the accused named Karim, Tajuddin and Iqbal for possessing the skin of leopard. They had arrested the accused at Vogga. About 25 people way laid the vehicles in which police and the accused were traveling at Maindala and attacked the police.
In the incident 3 police men were injured and one of the arrested Iqbal escaped during the mayhem. In return, police fired in the air against the mob in which a certain Ibrahim was injured.
Police sources revealed that, members of Karnataka Forum for Dignity (KFD) were involved in this attack against the police.
One of the police has been severely injured and has been admitted into the hospital in Mangalore. Police have initiated an investigation to arrest the persons involved in this attack.
