Mangalore, Feb 10: The Junior Chamber International India (JCI), Mangalore in the forefront of community service since 1962, commemorated its 46 years of self-less service by organizing the 'Marathon 999' here, on Saturday February 9, informed a press note.
Giving details of the events, Jc HGF Manjunath D, the president of JCI in the press note informs that in all 9 events were held covering a total of 9 hours on February 9.
At 9 am a 'Study Skills and Exam Preparation' Workshop for the 10th standard students of various Govt. high schools was held at the Lions Seva Mandir, Mallikatta in the city organized by Jc Chethanram, Mysore and International Trainer from JCI India. The workshop was inaugurated by M.V.C.S. Karanth, D.G.M of the Karnataka Bank. On the occasion the project directors Jc Mahesh Kamath and Jc Santhosh D’Mello were present.
At 10 am a 'Blood Grouping' campaign for KSRTC Staff of KSRTC Bus Stand, Mangalore was held. It was inaugurated by Louis Mascarenhas. Also on the occasion deputy chief labour welfare officer, of KSRTC, Mangalore, project directors Jc Shashidhar, Jc Avinash were present.
At 11 am a talk on ‘Right to Information’ was given by Ashok G. Bhat to the members of various Mahila Mandalies at Chemmanur Devassy Master Memorial College, Jyothi Circle in the city. It was inaugurated by Chanchala T, president, of Yashswini Mahila Mandali. Also present were project director were project director Jc Arun Fernandes.
At 12 noon the inauguration of a 'Junior JC' was held at Govt. P.U. College, Balmatta in the city. It was inaugurated by Adka Srinivas Rao, ex-president of the Kanara Chamber of Commerce & Industry, in the city. The project director Jc Monnappa was held.
Finally at 1 pm the handing over ceremony of 30,000 railway reservation forms with JCI logo, to railway authorities was held. It was inaugurated by Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, president, Kannada Sahitya Parishath, D.K. district. The project director Jc Anantesh Prabhu was present on the occasion.
