Bangalore, Feb 11: A Bangalore resident who had served in police force in the State of Bahrain is now the guest of Ashoknagar police, not as a policemen, but as an ace car thief!

Pilakal Nazir Alias Vazeer (45), a Bahraini police officer who voluntarily retired from service a few years ago and residing at BTM Layout 2nd stage, 7th B main road here was arrested by the police on Friday, February 8.  The police have recovered two cars and two motor cycles worth Rs 20 lac.

The accused had served as chauffeur of Bahraini businessman Sheikh Zabber Abdul Ali Khalifa for many years before joining the police force on recommendation of the latter.  Pilakar Nazir served the police force as officer for 9 years before taking voluntary retirement in order to settle down in India.

He was leading a luxurious life with his wife and four children while residing in the city. Moreover, in order to maintain his previous lifestyle of Bahrain he capitalized on his experience with the Gulf police force by roaming in cars and motor cycles which were embossed with the police monogram. He even dressed himself in the guise of a policeman, complete with uniform.

He used duplicate keys to lift brand new cars from the parking lots of prestigious malls across the city, informed the police.

The Ashoknagar police have registered a case in this regard.

Perhaps some organization should give Awards for this kind of people as well, so this kind of people thinking they will be given awards for their crimes may think otherwise. Or may they do bigger crimes to get bigger awards?
