Muscat, Feb 11: After the great success of the hilarious Tulu social dramas ‘Bolli’, ‘Telekeda Barsolu’ and ‘Namma Kaveri’, NPA Events in association with Al Falaj Hotel will be staging another hilarious social drama Anchilath Inchilath [neither here nor there] on 28th February, 2008 at Le Grand Hall, Al Falaj Hotel at 8 pm.

This social comedy will be presented by the well-known ‘Lakumi group’ from India who have been performing various plays over the last five years. During their  short stint, they have performed over 1500 shows of almost nine plays in Karnataka, Mumbai, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait.

Kishore D. Shetty’s Anchilath Inchilath [neither here nor there], a very successful production, has been running to packed houses in Mumbai, Bangalore and Mangalore. Besides Muscat, the play will also be staged in Dubai, Bahrain and Qatar. The group regularly visits the Gulf region and during the last two years, audiences in the Gulf have had the opportunity to enjoy their performances.

The hilarious storyline has been conceived by Naveen Shetty. The play revolves around a small family comprising of a widow and her two grown up sons. The unmarried ,elder son is  an alcoholic, but  does possess some good virtues. The younger son on whom the family is dependent, is married and blindly dances to the tunes of his spouse. The story takes a turn wherein there rises a    situation of Anchilllath Inchillath (neither here nor there) and   a vital decision in life is taken, enabling the character, in particular, to rectify thefollies made. This play brings out the essence of marriage, its intrinsic values and responsibilities, thereby enlightening one and all amidst the flavor of  humor and laughter


Naveen D. Padil, the director of Anchilath Inchilath is a renowned name in the Tulu theatre, who has over 43 full length plays to his credit. He is regarded as one of the most experienced and respected dramatists of the Tulu stage and performs a lead role in Anchilath Inchilath. He has just  completed a Tulu  feature film “BIRSE”, wherein  he plays a lead role ,and  is scheduled to be released in February 2008. A talented Actor cum Director ,Naveen is a star performer  in all the roles he enacts.Expressive character role is his forte.

Accompanying him are Anand Bolar, Vasant V. Amin, Sudesh Manjeshwar, Anil Kumar Aila, Rajesh Udyavar, Shobha Shetty, Asha Marnad and Thejaswini R. who are all well-known theatre artistes. Apart from these stalwarts, 12 other members of the troupe will be performing in this hilarious drama, making   a truly unforgettable evening.
