M'lore: 'Zaika 2008' - Lives upto its Name of being a Foodie's Delight

Mangalore, Feb 11: 'Zaika 2008', the annual food festival was organized with great fanfare and to the delight of all the Mangalorean foodie's by the city's Shree Devi College of Hotel Management at its college campus at Ballalbagh on Saturday February 9.
 


As per schedule, MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik, former senate, Syndicate and Finance Committee, Mangalore University, Nitte Education Trust, presided over the function which began at 6 in the evening. The Indian Airlines area marketing manager Nagesh Shetty was the chief guest on the occasion.
 
The festival 'Zaika 2008' tickling the taste buds of all, lived upto its name and came alive to delicious aroma of food stuffs to mesmerise all gourmets and foodies in the city. On display were a wide-spread array of cuisines ranging from Indian, Chinese, Continental, Thai and Italian, which were prepared by the students of the college.
 

 

An ecclectical mix of mocktails of different hues and flavours were also on display. Mangaloreans all around were seen giving appreciative glances at the intricate fruit and vegetable carvings. It was indeed a feast which will be remembered by all for a long time.
 
Also on one side, DJ NABZ kept the huge band of youngsters thoroughly entertained and on their feet with nearly 15,000 watts of pulsating music.  Special spot prizes were also given out to lucky participants on the occasion.
