Mangalore: Muslim Community Should give Prominence to Education - B A Mohiuddin

Mangalore, Feb 11: “Muslim community has not given prominence for the education like the rest of communities. Owing to lack of education its community has remained backward. Therefore, the community should focus on educating all the children, said B A Mohiuddin, former education minister.
Speaking after inaugurating new building of Hazrath Seyyid Madani English Medium Higher Primary School and High School at Ullal on Monday, February 11, he said that few decades ago, Muslim community leaders at Ullal decided to use the revenues of Ullal Masjid for a good cause. This has enabled thousands of students of Ullal to be educated through the institutions managed by Seyyid Madani Charitable Trust, he informed.
Meanwhile, he called on the educational experts to plan programmes for the empowerment of community women.
Speaking on the anti-propaganda targeted on Muslim community across India, he said that all the Muslims are proud children of India and all are Indians. Along with retaining religious compulsions and ethics, all are bound to contribute to the nation, he called on community brethren.
Seyyid Abdul Rehman Al Buqari, Qazi of Ullal, graced the function. Prof M Abdul Rehman, former vice-chancellor of Kannur and Kozhikode Universities, inaugurated the computer section on this occasion.
U K Monu, president of Ullal Juma Masjid and Seyyid Madani Darga Committee, presided over the function.
Y Mohammed Kunhi, chairman of district Wakf Advisory Committee, Fr Thomas D’Souza, parish priest of St Sebastian Church Tokkottu, Y Abdulla Kunhi, president of Islamic Academy of Education, former MLA U T Khader, Chandrahas Ullal, president of Sri Bhagavti Temple, Sadanand Bangera, president of Mogaveera Community, Abdul Razak, U K Khader, U Bava Ahmed and others were present on this occasion.
