Mangalore, Feb 13: 'Glamour' a word filled with colour and style is undoubtedly the most selling product in the Indian media. Perhaps no other content news enjoys the amount space Indian media gives to Bollywood. No matter how trivial, the private life of stars is always the breaking news on all media be it on television, print, Web or radio.

Recently we have seen several star weddings, a few of them took place without much hype, but others occupied the centre stage for almost weeks together.

Abhishek - Aishwarya wedding was indeed the wedding of the century in sections of the media. A girl even claimed that she had already married Abhishek just to get fifteen minutes of fame.

Similar situation was faced by Aishwarya too.  The end result in each case showed that all was done for the sake of media attention and for a few bucks.

The recent Sanjay Dutt - Manyata wedding too created a lot of hype and it was breaking news in all the major media in thr country. And just a day after the wedding a news agency even quoted that Manyata was pregnant.

This is just one small example of how the celebrity-crazy media likes to poke its nose in to the private life of stars.

Now let's have a look on the 'hot' wedding of Kannada super star Ganesh, popularly termed as 'Ganeshana Maduve' in the local media (after a Sandalwood movie with similar name).

Until 'Mungaru Male' touched the hearts of Kannadigas worldwide, the Sandalwood industry was
very quite, and its stars were hardly given any attentions by the media. But Mungaru Male changed not only the fortunes of its producers, directors and actors, but also the entire Kannada film industry under limelight.

Ganesh who was just an artiste on Udaya TV (Comedy Times) rose to fame within a short span of
time and becmae the heartthrob of millions of Kannadigas worldwide. Star-struck teenage girls have even reportedly been sending him marriage proposals which are said to be the reason for his advancing his marriage by a week!

Mungaru Male which was made with an investment of just Rs 1.5 crore made a moola of Rs 100 crore and is still running houseful in many threatres across the state.

Ganesh's wedding is now the talk of the town. He kept the news secret and even hid it from his close friends and directors of movies who have worked with him.

On Feb 11 night he married, and news spread like wild fire with almost every newspaper in karnataka publishing the story on front page. TV channels too had a gala time ferreting out even the most trivial details regarding the 'Great Kannadiga Wedding.'

Gossip mills began functioning a full 24 hours before the wedding and rumours flew fast in all directions. Once again the media got a spicy news to sell, one that had all the ingredients of a masala blockbuster.

A section of the media claimed that 'underworld' pressure was behind the 'secret' wedding of Ganesh. A print media quoted saying 'It was a forceful marriage, otherwise there was no way a super star like Ganesh could marry a divorcee.'

Another section was quoted 'Shilpa has a child from her previous husband but kept the matter secret.'

Another print media quoted 'Shilpa has not obtained divorce from her previous husband Vikram Gupta , son of a well-known hotelier. The couple was not happy and broke the marriage even before the honeymoon!. Disappointed Vikram has flown to USA and now settled there.'

A couple of news papers today even created headlines stating that a teenage girl ended her life after reading about Ganesh's wedding news. She was in love with Ganesh (one way??). But the family members of the girl clarified that the girl committed suicide after the shocking death of her grandmother who was closely attached to her.

In the coming days the gossip mills are expected to work faster and probably overtime.

To clarify facts Daijiworld contacted the star actor over the phone. 'It was a love marriage; I liked Shilpa even before the release of Mungaru Male movie. We have been in love since the time her previous marriage broke. Please do not give prominence to such gossip. I could not announce my wedding plans earlier because of my fans. It would have been difficult to control my fans at the wedding venue. The wedding has taken place with the blessings and presence of our parents and close family members. It was a low profile wedding." he said.
