M'lore: ICYM Belvai's Little Gesture Brings Big Joy to Kids & Elderly

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (AF)

Mangalore, Feb 15: When most of the Mangaloreans were enjoying a siesta on a warm afternoon, thirty members of Indian Christian Youth Movement (ICYM), Belvai were on a noble mission to bring smiles on the faces of lesser fortunate fellow citizens.

The ICYM members visited Sneha Sadan rehabilitation centre at Polali, Kaikamba and spent the afternoon interacting with the inmates and sharing lunch with them.

They also interacted with the children and organized games for them. The happy smiles on the faces of little kids showed the amount of joy they experienced through ICYM Belvai's gesture.

In the evening the group visted home for the aged run by Little Sisters of the Poor in Bajjodi, where they  distributed fruits and biscuits led by ICYM Belvai president Alroy Serrao and Hazel Lobo.

The love and affection shown by the young people towards their elderly was indeed touching. The inmates were overjoyed to interact with the group and have a little ray of sunshine in their otherwise monotonous lives.

Beluvai Parish Priest Fr Richard Saldanha accompanied the group.
